new years eve

Hi 2011.
If you were thinking that a good way to start off the new year would be by downloading a bunch of scuzzy house show noise then you might also be thinking that you're lucky to have found yourself here.
Recorded from the bookshelf of the Hearn Organ room on the last day of 2010:
Alps - coming from underneath an undulating bass ocean.
the Mermaids - the idiots that were also morons.
[the] alzheimer blanks - returning from the forest.
Artists:
alps,
the alzheimer blanks,
the mermaids

Starting to blog again / vox cyclops show
Also If I can muster up the will I will post some of the stuff I have recorded over the last year or so, probably not in nice neat order though... unfortunately I didn't bother to label the recordings and upon re listening to some of them I have found myself unable to identify them.
The following links will lead to live recordings from a show held out the back of vox cyclops in Newcastle,
CISTERN CORRUPT - "It was obvious to me even then that the lama who was now my guide was indeed a good man. The heat was terrible. swaths of mouldy old clothes , swarms of bewildered moths, and hot butter."
NONE MUSIC - "But there were catches: before I had to obey the frightening number of 32 rules of priestly conduct. As a lama, to my horror and dismay , I found the total was 253."
PREHISTORIC FUCKIN' MORON(S) - "The flowing robes wrapped around my stilted legs, moths flapped around as well, for the garments had been stored, and I sneezed and sneezed and sneezed, and added to my further discomfort by spilling hot butter from the lamps over my shaven and suffering pate."
LAKES - "Not long after this I think It may of been 5 or 6 months, there was a sudden terrific gale of wind, with flying clouds of dust and grit. I was on the roof of a storehouse being instructed in how to lay sheet gold to make the roof waterproof."
These recordings are slightly wind damaged in areas, but otherwise sound great, apologies for missing the start of none music. Click the links to download mp3 recordings.

Crab Smasher - Forever!
There hasn't been much activity here at Sky Hut so it's pretty exciting to be able to offer you a new Crab Smasher album/download to make up for it.
FOREVER! Consists of seven tracks culled from live sets recorded at the Winter Tragic festival in The Blue Mountains, and an intimate gig in the concrete prison exercise yard of the Lock Up in Newcastle. For these shows, the lineup was slimmed down to the lite-trio of Nicholas French, Grant Hunter, and Marnie Vaughn, as the other dudes were either too drunk or too busy playing Halo on xbox 360.
Like last year's smash hit The Picky Eater, this album should hopefully tide you over while you continue to wait for the next Crab Smasher studio album, which will be out one day, but probably not anytime soon.
Featuring a stunning cover photograph by Nicholas Pitt, The download contains all seven tracks as well as a handy PDF so you can print out a cover and make your own CD if you like, or even make hundreds of them for every person you've ever met in your entire life. As with all sky hut releases, please feel free to pass this around, repost it on your own blog, whatever. Also we'd love to know if you think it's not very good.
TRACKS
1. Big Beautiful Women
2. Death train
3. Fighting For Her Attention
4. Mating In Captivity
5. Wool Flies
6. Japanese Bug Fights
7. False Alarm

~{>>>ROYAL HEADACHE<<<}~
Repressed records is a really good record shop in Newtown. I would recommend going to it :)This is a recording of hot dude band Royal Headache taken from an instore gig around March. Unfortunately I missed Street Chant and neglected to record Dead Farmers (sorry! I keep stuffing my gadget). This recording has the advantage of sounding nicer than the one taken from Dirty Shirlows downloadable from below.

POPOLICE
There is also about an hours worth of field recording taken from the 'room project' which was a room with a warped floor made from different lengths of wood block. The recording is of people walking and running and jumping all over the crooked floor before the above show took place...If anyone is interested.
